Finally, this piece is done!!! Let's just say that my mind hasn't been at its healthiest as of late, and I ran into a few obstacles here and there. Nevertheless, I am quite happy with the end result of this passion project of mine!
Liverleaf (2018) ain't a groundbreaking film whatsoever, and, no doubt, is it flawed as heck in a lot of areas. But it definitely struck a chord in me so much so that I really had to read the manga, Misu Misou/Hepatica Nobilis, it was adapted from... and, man, did I fall in love with this story even more so.
The combination of having the advantage of visualizing the movie's striking imagery with the better-executed narrative of the manga... one experience I'll never forget. It's no joke when I say that watching the film and following it up by binging the manga the day after certainly helped in reminding me that life is still worth living. Quite the melodramatic conclusion, I know! Hahahaha.
So, yeah! That's why we're here now with my digital painting/illustration of the manga/film's core protagonist, Nozaki Haruka. Mixed a few details here and there with her outfit along with filling out some spots with the weapons that I couldn't quite recall nor picture all too well. Kinda tough getting all the right screenshots for my reference board. Oh, and the snow and trees was one of those aforementioned obstacles I had to figure out as I worked towards finishing the piece. Hahahaha.
I'm rambling, again, huh?
Anyway, cheers!
God bless, everyone!!!
Drawing a character from a relatively obscure film/manga isn't the best move for helping the algorithm remember my existence... but, at this point, who cares? Hahahahaha. I'm just happy y'all are still here to support what I do. And I'm grateful for that, truly!
